In this Final Four matchup, Alabama is seeking to make the title game for the first time in school history. UConn aims to become the first repeat champions since the Florida Gators went back-to-back in 2006-07.

Before Betting on Alabama vs UConn

Alabama made the Final Four for the first time in program history after beating a college football rival in Clemson. The Crimson Tide relied on their offense, as they have all season. Five players reached double figures in scoring, giving them a balanced attack across the board.

Mark Sears hit seven 3-pointers and scored 23 points, leading the team. Alabama also received an excellent game from Freshman Jarin Stevenson, who racked up 19 points on 7-11 shooting. The Crimson Tide will be tested on both sides of the ball against UConn.

The Huskies appear to be the clear favorite to repeat as tournament champions. They would be the first team to do so in nearly 20 years. In the ten tournament games they played between last year and this year so far, the Huskies have won each one by 13 points or more.

The latest in their chain of blowout wins was a 25-point thrashing of the very capable Illinois Fighting Illini. UConn’s defense wasn’t threatened at all by Illinois, and they remained equally dominant on offense. They’ll be putting their defense to the test once again in a matchup with a high-scoring Alabama team.

San Diego State’s defense and Illinois’ offense weren’t nearly enough to stop the dominant Huskies in the last two rounds. While Alabama boasts a capable offense similar to UConn and Illinois, their sub-100 defense is cause for concern. Unless the Huskies are missing wide-open shots, I struggle to imagine them losing to Alabama in this one.
