The 2018 NBA All Star Game takes place Sunday at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. This is the first season under a new format featuring the best players in the league. Instead of the Eastern Conference against the Western Conference; this season we have Team Steph against Team LeBron. LeBron James is one of the two captains, and rumor has it his first pick in this draft was Kevin Durant. James and Durant have battled over the years, but are arguably the two toughest players in the league to guard. The rest of the starters for Team LeBron were DeMarcus Cousins, Anthony Davis and Kyrie Irving. DeMarcus Cousins is out due to injury. Paul George was selected to replace him on the roster.
The rest of Team LeBron features Bradley Beal, Russell Westbrook, Victor Oladipo, Andre Drummond, Goran Dragic and Kemba Walker. Steph Curry, the winner of two out of the last three NBA titles with the Golden State Warriors was the captain of the other team. Curry did not get his teammate Kevin Durant, but did add Klay Thompson and Draymond Green from his Warriors. They have not had the injury problems that Team LeBron has had. The starters for Team Steph feature CUrry, James Harden, DeMar DeRozan, Giannis Antetokounmpo and Joel Embiid,
The reserves for this team are Damian Lillard of Portland, Jimmy Butler of Minnesota, Kyle Lowry of Toronto, Karl-Anthony Towns of the Timberwolves and Al Horford in Boston. Those will join Thompson and Green off the bench. The head coach of Team Steph is Mike D’Antoni of the Houston Rockets. The Rockets have overtaken Golden State for the best record in the Western Conference.
Team LeBron Takes Down Team Steph
This game is going to be entertaining. It’s quite difficult to bet on the NBA All Star Game, because neither team has a ton of motivation to win the game. The guys are there to entertain, and have a good team. This is going to be a fun game, but if we are looking for a bet, Team LeBron is the way we are going. It’s just a two point spread.
