It’s been quite the turnaround for Tulane, who has gone from 2-10 a season ago to 10-2 in 2022. There’s one more thing to check off the list of goals though and that’s a win in the AAC Championship game in the Green Wave’s first ever appearance. UCF (9-3) handed Tulane one of their two losses this year, beating them on the road 38-31 in week 11.
Before Betting on the AAC Championship Game
Tulane did pretty much all they could in the first meeting with UCF, with RB Tyjae Spears having 130 yards on just 8 carries while QB Michael Pratt threw 3 TDs and ran for another – and the Green Wave still lost by a TD.
It was Knights QB John Rhys Plumlee that was the x-factor in the first meeting, throwing for 132 yards and a TD but doing the most damage with 176 yards rushing and 2 scores. Central Florida was ranked #22 at the time and Tulane #17, so these two teams’ paths were set to cross for weeks. It should be noted Plumlee did tweak his hamstring in last week’s win over South Florida, but he is said to be good to go.
Tulane punched their ticket to the AAC Championship with a win over Cincinnati, marking this the first time the Bearcats are not playing in the title game since 2018. UCF also beat Cincinnati this season too though, so the Knights – who are leaving the conference next year to join the Big 12 – can prove they were the absolute best in their last year in the AAC.

AAC Championship Game Prediction & Pick
In a game where it wouldn’t be a surprise at all if UCF wins outright, it seems the only way to go is to take the +4 points. The Knights are obviously a high-caliber program as they prepare to enter the Big 12, plus they’ve already won at Tulane this season. Have to go UCF and another play on the over.
Pick: UCF +4
