The 2022 Duluth Trading Cure Bowl has the chance to be sneaky good – or maybe even not that sneaky. The #25 UTSA Roadrunners and the #24 Troy Trojans are each on 10-game win streaks which is the most in the country behind undefeated Georgia and Michigan. Both programs have enjoyed great 11-2 seasons, with one getting the icing on the cake with a bowl win on Friday afternoon.

UTSA enjoyed a nice swan song in Conference USA this season, beating North Texas 48-27 in the championship game as the Roadrunners prepare for a move to the American Athletic Conference in 2023. Coach Jeff Traylor has guided his club to a 23-4 record over the last two seasons, but is still looking for his first bowl win after losing the First Responders Bowl in 2020 and the Frisco Bowl last season.

Troy has built their success on their defense giving up just 17.5 ppg which is 8th fewest in the FBS. What you worry about with Troy though is if their defense numbers are just a product of playing in the Sun Belt Conference and playing a 79th ranked strength of schedule.
