The NFL Coach of the Year award is one of the most valuable in American football. For some, it has more value than the MVP trophy. Stay tuned and see who are the top favorites for winning this prize in the upcoming campaign.

Before Betting on 2023 NFL Coach of the Year

Last season’s winner was the New York Giants head coach, Brian Daboll, who pushed his team into the playoffs and finally made Daniel Jones a reliable quarterback. The year before that, Titans HC Mike Vrabel took the honors, while in 2020, Kevin Stefanski of the Cleveland Browns earned the trophy.

Legendary Don Shula has four awards and is by far the most successful in this category. Bill Belichick is the only one with three.

Sean Payton took a brief pause from head coaching once he left the New Orleans Saints in 2021. He is now back, leading the Denver Broncos, who had a frustrating and disappointing season.

Instead of fighting for the title, they were near the bottom of the AFC. Many believe that the missing piece in their puzzle was a proper head coach and that with Payton, they can go all the way. That’s why the 2006 winner of this award, and the 2008 Super Bowl champ, leads the list.

The Atlanta Falcons, Arthur Smith is right behind. The 41-year-old has a very talented team at his disposal. Atlanta didn’t reach the playoffs last season, but they had a breakthrough year, indicating massive potential.

The Packers Mat Lafleur is always in the mix. His offensive approach is very appealing, but the Packers didn’t win the Super Bowl with Aaron Rodgers on the field. Now, if Lafleur manages to keep the Pack relevant with Jordan Love as the starting QB, he could finally get the trophy.

Matt Eberflus from the Bears is behind, with the same odds as the Miami Dolphins head coach, Mike McDaniel.
