Turkey is at a crossroads with the elections coming their way. The biggest question is whether Recep Tayyip Ergodan remains the President.
Before betting on the 2023 Turkish Presidential Elections
This year’s Turkish General elections will be one of the most interesting in the history of this nation. For many, they have a significance that could shift the balance of power in the Middle East and even beyond.
Recep Tayyip Ergodan will have a strong opposition against him, who possibly increased its power following devastating earthquakes that happened at the beginning of the year.
The polarization in Turkish society is reaching its peak, which is why these elections matter. It is the similar situation like in the United States, where elections take place next year.
2023 Turkish Presidential Elections Offshore Odds
BetOnline.ag released the odds that are even at the moment. That also shows that the race in Turkey might be pretty tight. Erdogan’s biggest rival, with whom he will probably roll into the second round, is the leader of the opposition Nation Alliance, Kemal Kilicdaroglu. There are two more candidates, Mukarrem Ince, and Sinan Ogan, but they don’t have the power to reach 10% of the votes.
The West is against Erdogan, who, even though didn’t officially side with Russia in the Ukraine war, made moves that went in favor of the Russian side. Also, he openly shows discontent toward the European Union and the USA politics in many areas, complicating his position.
