Turns out, Inter Miami can do without Lionel Messi, their best player. The soccer GOAT was away celebrating the Copa America win with his national teams earlier this week, but the Herons still managed to crush Toronto FC 3:1. Fast-forward to Saturday, July 20, and Gerardo “Tata” Martino’s boys want to do the same to Chicago Fire. Let’s see if they can pull it off.

Before Betting on Inter Miami vs. Chicago Fire

Lionel Messi will miss Saturday’s game, this time not because of international duty but because he suffered a foot injury at the Copa America. The good news for Martino is that Luis Suarez, Inter Miami’s second-best scorer, will probably be fit to start this game.

Even better news is that some players who used to be flying under the radar have started playing fantastic soccer. Take Federico Redondo Solari, for example, the man who scored two goals against Toronto FC and made one assist. The assist was to winger Diego Gomez who’s also been terrific lately.

They did great in their previous game, but there’s a caveat. Inter Miami played against one of the worst – if not the very worst one – teams in the 2024 MLS. Luckily for them, their next opponent isn’t really a heavyweight either.

Chicago Fire is third from behind in the Eastern Conference with a 6-7-11 record and a 29:40 score difference. In comparison, Inter Miami is sitting at the very top with a 15-5-4 record and a 54:38 score differential.

We doubted that Inter Miami were going to beat Toronto FC, but they did it without any major issues. That said, we trust them to do the same this time around. Sure, they lost their last three duels with Chicago Fire, but we think it’s time to put an end to it.
