The award for the Best Artist of the Year was established back in 2017, and so far, we had six winners – Ed Sheeran, Camila Cabello, Ariana Grande, Lady Gaga, Justin Biber and Bad Bunny, in that chronological order.
Ariana Grande had four nominations so far, while the only group nominated was the Jonas Brothers back in 2019.

This year’s ceremony will occur at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, on September 12. There are six nominations for the Best Artist of the Year, and all are females – Beyonce, Doja Cat, Karol G, Nicki Minaj, Shakira, and Taylor Swift.
The top contender for the award is Taylor Swift, whose Eras Tour was huge, and created havoc among the fans. Doja Cat is second. The rapper from LA is often controversial, but her music is fantastic, which is why many consider her one of the leading stars today. Carolina Giraldo Navarro, just known as Karol G, earned a nomination with her Latin trap and is a refreshment for the majority of the listeners. Another Latina is in the mix, Shakira, whose odds chances might be the lowest, but on the other hand, it wouldn’t be a big surprise if she ends up winning the honors.
