The Huskies’ closest game of March Madness 2023 was their 72-59 win over Miami on Saturday night – a Hurricanes team that had the experience of reaching the Elite 8 last season, had already taken down a #1 seed (Houston) and a #2 (Texas), and had the ACC Player of the Year in Isaiah Wong.
What Connecticut did against Miami was impressive, but that’s been the norm for this Huskies team that stomped Gonzaga 82-54 in the Elite 8 and Arkansas 88-65 in the Sweet 16. Adama Sanogo posted his third 20+ point game of the tournament against the Hurricanes while Jordan Hawkins went for 20+ in both games last weekend.
San Diego State has the chance to become one of the most unlikeliest National Champions of all time if they can pull off the upset on Monday night. Lamont Butler’s buzzer-beater on Saturday night lifted the Aztecs to a 82-71 victory over Florida Atlantic, but one has to wonder what SDSU has left in the tank after such a physically and emotionally draining game 48 hours prior.

It wouldn’t have been a shocker to see UConn as a double digit favorite in this game considering they’ve won every game this tournament by at least 12 points. SDSU has the #4 ranked defensive efficiency in the country, but UConn is 8th in that category to go along with 3rd offensively. This is a great spot to fade because the offshore sportsbooks look set to take a bath with a UConn cover, but the Huskies are by far the better club here.
