With #1 Tennessee and #3 Georgia beating each other up this weekend, it presents a great opportunity for #6 Alabama to climb a bit in the CFP – if they can impress with a big win in Baton Rouge on Saturday night. The Tigers are #15 in the AP Top 25, but were all the way up to #10 in the first playoff ranking release so they can make a move up with a win in the Alabama vs LSU matchup.
Before Betting on Alabama vs LSU
The Crimson Tide had some defensive questions to answer following their 52-49 loss at Tennessee in week 7, but they did a good job of putting some of those to rest with a 30-6 win over Mississippi State two weeks ago holding the high-powered Bulldogs passing game to just 30/60 for 231 yards.
Both Alabama and LSU come into Saturday’s game following their bye week. For the Tigers they are hoping the week off didn’t kill the momentum of two impressive wins, 45-35 at Florida and then 45-20 against Ole Miss to hand the then #7 Rebels their first loss of the season.
LSU’s Jayden Daniels was great vs. Ole Miss, throwing for 248 yards and 2 TDs while running for 121 and 3 more scores. Tennessee’s Hendon Hooker rose to the top of the Heisman odds with a big performance over Alabama, can Daniels do the same?

Alabama vs LSU Prediction & Pick
LSU getting +13.5 at home seems like way too many points. Brian Kelly has had an extra week to game plan for Alabama (same with Saban the other way too though), and the Baton Rouge crowd is going to be rocking as LSU has momentum. There are a lot of different moving parts in the 2022 meeting, but last year Alabama only beat the Tigers 20-14 even as a -29.5 home favorite.
Pick: LSU +13.5
