The forecast on Sunday in Kansas City calls for a QB duel for the ages when Joe Burrow and the Bengals take on Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs. This is a rematch of last year’s AFC Championship – almost a year to the day – that the Bengals were able to win 27-24 also on the road.

Before Betting on Bengals vs Chiefs

Burrow and the Bengals made relatively easy work of the Bills last week, winning 27-10 on the road as +6 point underdogs. Burrow had 242 yards and 2 TDs and Cincinnati added 172 yards on the ground. Cincinnati had the #5 pass offense in the league this season so that success is not a surprise, but if they can get a rushing game going that ranked 29th in the NFL during the regular season then this offense could be unstoppable.

Kansas City was able to have the bye as the #1 seed in the AFC and last week they took down a surprisingly scrappy Jacksonville club 27-20. The big concern against the Jaguars was Mahomes suffering a high ankle sprain, but by all accounts he’s good to go for Sunday night’s contest.

Chiefs TE Travis Kelce (back) also popped up on the injury report as questionable which would be a huge blow to Kansas City if he is not at full strength. The Bengals are down three starting offensive lineman, but they are the same trio that missed last week’s meeting with Buffalo and Burrow was sacked just once.

AFC Championship Game Betting Prediction & Pick

The Bengals were a road favorite at one point on the offshore sportsbooks this week, but Mahomes’ ankle seeming fine has shifted the Chiefs back to roughly -1.5. This is a high pressure situation on the road, but Cincinnati is a team that just doesn’t get fazed as they proved last year at Arrowhead Stadium.
Pick: Bengals +1.5
