After that loss, Poatan moved up a weight class and is undefeated in the UFC Light Heavyweight Division. First, he beat Jan Blachowicz by a split decision, after which he was given a shot at the vacant title.
He went to war with Jiri Prochazka in the fight for the championship belt and won by a TKO in the second round. Pereira earned a Performance of the Night bonus for that win. But there’s a caveat.
The fight in question was Prochazka’s first fight after suffering a shoulder injury that forced him to vacate the title he had won a few months earlier by beating Glover Teixeira by submission.
Since that loss, we saw Prochazka fight once. It happened last April when we saw him destroy Aleksander Rakic, winning a $300,000 bonus for the Performance of the Night.
