This coming Saturday, Alexander Volkanovski is defending his UFC Featherweight Championship against his former champ Max Holloway. T-Mobile Arena in Paradise, NV is where the two archrivals will meet for the third time. Their previous two fights finished in Volkanovski’s favor; is it time for Holloway to exact his revenge?
Before Betting on Alexander Volkanovski vs. Max Holloway
The fact that Volkanovski is second in the UFC men’s pound-for-pound rankings explains why offshore betting sites see him as the favorite on July 2. He is 24-1 in his professional career, with his only loss happening back in 2013 when he was fighting under the banner of Australian FC promotion.
Since coming to the UFC, Alex has all wins, including two against Holloway. The first of those happened in December 2019, when Max was the reigning UFC Featherweight champ. Volkanovski beat him by unanimous decision, taking away the championship belt from him. Holloway tried to get it back seven months later but failed to do so – Volkanovski won again, this time by split decision.
Since then, he went on to defend the title two more times, beating Brian Ortega by decision and The Korean Zombie by TKO. Meanwhile, Holloway defeated Calvin Kattar and Yair Rodriguez, both by unanimous decision.
