We saw these two clash some two and a half months ago, leaving the spectators shocked and appalled with the way things ended. As many remember, this was a no-contest due to Ankalaev’s illegal knee. Walker first nagged about the Russian’s move, and when the judge in the octagon stopped the fight, he wanted to continue.

Before Betting on Ankalaev vs. Walker

For the past three years, Ankalaev has established himself as a force to be reckoned with, consistently proving his mettle at the top of the division. Many still contend that in his questionable draw against Jan Blachowicz at UFC 282, Ankalaev truly deserved the victory and the title.

Ankalaev possesses incredible versatility, with the Russian knowing how to hurt the rivals via striking and wrestling. Meanwhile, his ability to execute takedowns is superb, while his defensive prowess is nothing short of extraordinary, and we saw that in the past.

We couldn’t understand what was Walker’s intention in the previous contest. And to be honest, he did deserve the label of the bad guy in that situation, but we won’t speak too much about that, yet focus on the Brazilian’s combat skills. Although Walker’s recent achievements have nearly erased the memory of his dismal 1-4 performances, it is imperative to recognize the stark contrast in his trajectory compared to Ankalaev’s.

Walker did defeat Cutelaba, Craig, and Anthony Smith, but prior to that, he was blown away by Jamahal Hill, and Corey Anderson and lost to “crippled” Thiago Santos. His athleticism is superb, but on the other side, Walker is very undisciplined, which is the main reason he didn’t fulfill his potential.

The Russian is a far superior fighter, much more versatile than Walker which is why we expect him to win this event easily.
