The headliner of the UFC 37 will have its replay this Saturday night at the UFC Singapore. Anthony Smith and Ryan Spann head one against another once more, with the two light heavyweights having some unfinished business from the past.
Before Betting on Anthony Smith vs. Ryan Spann UFC Singapore
The former UFC light heavyweight title challenger is on a bad stretch having back-to-back loses, one to Magomed Ankalaev, a first-round TKO, and the second to Johnny Walker, who was better after a unanimous decision. Smith currently boasts a record of 36 wins and 18 losses, and has a fantastic career behind him.
Practically there isn’t a big name in the division against whom Smith didn’t compete. He defeated guys like Volkan Oezdemir, Mauricio Rua, Alexander Gustafsson, Rashad Evans, Devin Clark, etc. He is a well-rounded guy who knows both to hit and to wrestle. With age, his cardio has become less reliable, but on the other side, has massive experience.
Ryan Spann had a very good start to the UFC career, but the loss to Johnny Walker stopped what could have ended with the title battle. Since then he can’t gain any consistency, despite posting some excellent performances like those against Ion Cutelaba and Dominick Reyes whom he both finished in the first round.
However, after those successes, he lost to Nikita Krylov and again slowed down his ascend through the light heavyweight rankings. Spann is a strong puncher, and despite having 12 submission wins, he cracks his rivals with ferocious hits before dragging them to the mat.

Both guys aren’t very keen on reaching the distance because of their reckless style of fight and the overall aggressive approach. We think that Smith, despite his experience, doesn’t have the needed power to stand up to Spann, who is in better shape and is less damaged throughout his career.
