Before Betting on Anthony Smith vs. Vitor Petrino UFC 301 Fight

Anthony Smith is turning 36 this summer, which isn’t too old for a light heavyweight. However, he’s been fighting professionally since 2008. He’s got a lot of fighting mileage considering that he’s fought 56 MMA fights so far.

Back in 2018, “Lionheart” was in his prime. After moving up to the UFC Light Heavyweight division, he went on to win three fights in a row, which earned him a title show against Jon Jones. “Bones” fought dirty, landing an illegal knee which hurt Smith and was one of the reasons why he ended up losing the title fight by unanimous decision.

Since then, Smith put on a few brilliant performances but was never given another shot at the title by Dana White & Co. He probably won’t get it even if he beats Vitor Petrino in Rio. But even that doesn’t seem likely given that Smith is 1-3 in his last four fights. And the win in question was a split-decision win over Ryan Spann.

In his most recent fight, Smith lost to Khalil Rountree Jr. by TKO and is now meant to fight another incredibly athletic opponent. Petrino is fast and strong, and most importantly, in his prime. The Brazilian fighter is 11-0, with a 4-0 record in the UFC.

The Anthony Smith vs. Vitor Petrino is going to be a real war inside the Octagon. We expect both fighters to throw what they’ve got at each other.

The fight might go the distance, but we’re certain the Brazilian fighter will be the one with his fists raised victoriously in the end. It’s just that he’s younger, more aggressive, and probably even more confident than Smith at this point.
