Minnesota (37-31-10) has a tough task on Friday, playing their first game since being eliminated from the postseason in a loss to Colorado Tuesday night. With nothing but pride to play for now, a visit to Las Vegas will really test a team’s mettle. The Golden Knights (42-28-8) have no problem with the Wild coming out flat, as they are still chasing the final wild card berth with four games left in the regular season.

Before Betting on April 12 Wild vs Golden Knights

Vegas came out like gang busters to start the 2023/24 season, picking up points in their first 12 games (11-0-1) following last year’s Stanley Cup win. It looks like the Golden Knights are ending the year the opposite way though, losers of three straight including a monumental 7-4 defeat to Arizona last Friday when Vegas took a 4-1 lead into the 3rd period.

Logan Thompson was in net for the Golden Knights in the devastating loss to the Coyotes, and following a defeat to Vancouver he’s now allowed 10 goals in his last two starts. The Golden Knights even turned to Adin Hill between the pipes on Wednesday but he let five goals slip by in a loss to Edmonton.

The Wild didn’t do themselves any favors in losing four of their last six to officially be eliminated from postseason contention. This is just the second time Minnesota has not made the playoffs since the 2011/12 season so it’s definitely a new experience for the club and their fans.

April 12 Wild vs Golden Knights NHL Prediction & Pick

The pressure is off Minnesota and they have a chance to play spoiler on Friday, but will the allures of Sin City be too much for a freshly eliminated team? Vegas just went 0-3 on their most recent road trip, but are 24-11-2 at home this season and must have this win.

Pick: Golden Knights -1.5
