Even though Oklahoma City had a breakout year in 2023/24 winning the #1 seed in the West, they’re still not a bad draw for the winner of Friday night’s Kings vs Pelicans play-in game with the victor getting the #8 seed. Sacramento got here with a 118-94 win over Golden State on Tuesday that may have ended the Warriors’ dynasty run while New Orleans finds themselves here after a 110-106 loss to the Lakers in the #7/#8 seed contest.

Before Betting on April 19 Kings vs Pelicans

New Orleans’ loss on Tuesday was two fold, not only do they have to compete in an extra play-in game but Zion Williamson exited with just over three minutes left and will be out indefinitely with a hamstring injury. Williamson was great before the injury too, scoring 40 points and grabbing 11 rebounds so his absence will be felt.

There are some positives for New Orleans heading into Friday night’s game. They are at home in what should be a “real” playoff type atmosphere and the Lakers’ reward for winning on Tuesday is a meeting with defending champion Denver while the Pelicans could face the inexperienced Thunder. The team has also worked Brandon Ingram (20.8 ppg) back into the lineup the last two games after he missed over three weeks with a knee injury.

The Kings made great strides last season, making the playoffs for the first time since 2006 before battling to a 7-game elimination at the hands of Golden State. Sacramento got a small measure of revenge by eliminating the Warriors on Tuesday behind 32 points from Keegan Murray while holding Klay Thompson to 0-10 from the floor.

April 19 Kings vs Pelicans NBA Prediction & Pick

Sacramento looks ready to make the next step. Murray, De’Aaron Fox, and Domantas Sabonis are in the upper tier of NBA players while the Pelicans are short on star power with Williamson out and Ingram still working his way back from injury.

Pick: Kings +1
