Game 2 of a playoff series is all about adjustments, whether that’s the winning team, the losing team, or the oddsmakers. The Cavaliers (49-34) took over in their Game 1 win over the Magic (47-36) with a 97-83 victory, yet the line for Monday is the same as Saturday with Cleveland again a -5.5 favorite. Is there any way Orlando can steal one at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse before the series shifts back home – it doesn’t seem likely.
Before Betting on April 22 Magic vs Cavs
The Cavs had everything going for them in Game 1 – the crowd was in peak playoff mode, they had a fast start, and they fought off multiple Orlando rallies before finally putting them away for good. Donovan Mitchell also looked healthy after fighting through a knee injury over the last month of the regular season, scoring 30 points on 11-21 shooting while Jarrett Allen dominated down low with 16 points and 18 rebounds.
What’s scary about the Cavs’ 14-point win in Game 1 is that they actually played kind of sloppily. Cleveland hit just 8-30 three pointers and committed 17 turnovers. If they clean some of that up, Game 2 could be another blowout.
While the Cavaliers didn’t play their best basketball in Game 1, Orlando also has that argument. The Magic shot just 8-37 from three point range and were an abysmal 19-30 from the free throw line. Paolo Banchero looks like he had a good game with 24 points, but he also shot just 2-7 from three, 4-8 on the FT line, and more importantly committed a whopping 9 turnovers.

April 22 Magic vs Cavs Prediction & Pick
It’s interesting that the line hasn’t changed for Game 2 even after Cleveland’s dominating victory on Saturday, which means a ton of public betting is going to be on the Cavaliers which raises some issues. Both teams shot bad in the series opener which you’d expect with some playoff jitters. The best bet for Monday night’s action is that a lot more baskets will be made and thus a lot more points will be scored.
