The Bucks were home underdogs in Game 1 of their Eastern Conference playoff series against the Pacers, and Milwaukee took that personally delivering a 109-94 blowout win that wasn’t even that close. The Bucks were playing without former MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo (calf), but a stifling defense, home court advantage, and some solid offensive depth carried them to the early series lead.

Before Betting on April 23 Pacers vs Bucks

Damian Lillard came to Milwaukee because he was tired of being mired in mediocrity in Portland. Antetokounmpo’s injury looked to derail the Bucks’ championship chances, but Lillard wasn’t having it as he went off for 19 points in the first quarter en route to a 35-point night. Lillard hit 11-24 shots from the floor and 6-11 from three and didn’t even score in the second half – and he didn’t have to.

The Bucks were thoroughly dominant in Game 1, getting up 30 at one point and taking a 27-point lead into the half. Both Khris Middleton (23/10) and Bobby Portis (15/11) posted double-doubles to go along with Lillard’s big night and Milwaukee proved that they don’t need to rush Antetokounmpo back to have success in this series.

There is one positive for Indiana heading into Game 2 – things can’t get any worse. The Pacers were the best FG shooting team in the NBA this season (50.7) and led in points scored (123.3) but were completely abysmal on Sunday in being held to under 100 points for just the second time this season. Indiana could not buy a three pointer, shooting 8-38 (21%) from beyond the arc.

April 23 Pacers vs Bucks Prediction & Pick

Indiana should be better on Tuesday – but will it be enough? Pascal Siakam was arguably the lone bright spot for the Pacers with 36 points and 13 rebounds, but even if he gets some help from Tyrese Haliburton (9 points), Milwaukee just looks too good.

Pick: Bucks -1
