The Argentinians suffered one of the most shocking defeats in World Cup history. A 1-2 loss to Saudi Arabia is even more sensational because Argentina had a lead at halftime and had three canceled goals.
As soon as the second half began, the Saudis flipped the result upside down, and the Gauchos couldn’t recover. They were stunned and wandered around the field, without any chances to endanger the rivals and at least get away with a draw.
Mexico had a very, very boring contest against Poland, who almost beat the Sombreros. Guillermo Ochoa once again saved his team, this time by stopping Lewandowski’s penalty. Poland was extremely defensive-minded and without any chances, and even the penalty came out from nowhere.
The Mexicans tried to score, having the initiative, but without results. Overall, their attack was flat, and didn’t have a solution on how to break the rival’s lock.
