The top two in the Premier League standings lock horns on Wednesday, as Arsenal look to end a three-game wait for a victory in all competitions. Manchester City could move to the top of the standings for the first time since the second week of the season.

Before Betting On Arsenal vs Manchester City

For the first time this season, questions are beginning to get asked of Mikel Arteta and his Arsenal side, as their advantage at the top of the standings has evaporated. They are now just three points clear at the top of the standings, and could drop to second if they are beaten by City at the Emirates on Wednesday.

The Gunners have gone three games without a victory in all competitions, which includes two games without a win in the Premier League. They were held at the Emirates in their most recent fixture, as they could only play out a 1-1 draw against Brentford on Saturday.

City took full advantage of that Arsenal blip, as Pep Guardiola’s side cruised to maximum points against Aston Villa on Sunday. However, their biggest concern would be the fact that Erling Haaland was taken off at half-time after picking up an injury.

That being said, every trend points to a City win in this fixture on Wednesday, as the Gunners have lost their last ten Premier League fixtures against City. The reigning champions have also won each of their previous six away from home against Arsenal, and City are the only team in the Premier League that Mikel Arteta is yet to beat as Gunners boss.

This looks to be a crucial game in the race for the Premier League title this term. Arsenal’s poor record against City is a huge concern coming into this fixture, while they have also lost their last eight against the reigning champions. Therefore, we will be siding with City at the Emirates.
