Eyes will be on the battle for a Champions League finish in the Premier League this weekend, as Aston Villa look to get their campaign back on track in front of their home fans. Nottingham Forest will be the visitors in their battle to avoid relegation back to the second tier.
Before Betting On Aston Villa vs Nottingham Forest
It has been an excellent campaign to this point for Aston Villa, but the Midlands side are coming under increasing pressure in their battle to finish in a Champions League position. Villa come into this round with a two-point advantage over Tottenham, while a home win could open up an important eight-point advantage over sixth-place Man United.
Nottingham Forest are in danger at the opposite end of the standings, as the East Midlands side sit 16th in the standings and just four points clear of the bottom three places. Forest have suffered defeats in three of their last five, but they did achieve a welcome return to winning ways with a home success against West Ham United last Saturday.
Villa’s home record against their rivals could be a key trend to consider this weekend, as they have suffered just a single defeat in 14 meetings at Villa Park. They are also without a loss in the last seven matches since a 2-0 defeat in October 1994. However, Forest did claim a rare win over Villa earlier in the season with a 2-0 success at the City Ground.
The home side will be looking to get back on track in front of their own fans after losing their last two. However, they haven’t lost three home matches on the bounce since November 2020. Villa also have an excellent threat in the final third after failing to score in just three of their last 25 matches in the Premier League this term.
Aston Villa vs Nottingham Forest Offshore Odds & Pick
Villa look a fairly safe bet to get their home form back on track this weekend, as they boast a dominant record against Forest. However, we wouldn’t be surprised to see both teams find the net, as Forest boast excellent quality on the counter-attack.
