The Rangers have gone just 5-7 in June, but they have a three game win streak going while trying to improve on a 14-16 home record. Marcus Semien was 3-4 at the plate on Monday as Texas belted out 11 hits and sent the Astros to their 4th loss in the last five games.
The offshore odds are suggesting another close game on Tuesday night, as the price has dropped dramatically from when the Astros were -155 favorites in the series opener. Jose Urquidy (5-3, 5.04 ERA) is on the mound for Houston but he’s in the midst of a rough patch, allowing 3+ ER in four of his last five starts.
The Rangers send Dane Dunning (1-4, 4.41 ERA) to the hill coming off 4ER allowed over just 4.0 IP in a loss to Cleveland. Yordan Alvarez is 3-6 with a HR in his career vs. the Texas starter, so look for him to have a big night at the plate for Houston.
