The Tampa Bay Rays (19-3) showed they were human last week finally picking up their first losses of the season in two games at Tampa Bay and one at Cincinnati. The Rays continued their dominance back at home though, sweeping the White Sox this weekend to push their mark to 13-0 at Tropicana Field. The Houston Astros (12-10) come to St. Petersburg red hot as well though, winners of four in a row.

The Astros have some good value for Monday night’s matchup even though Tampa Bay hasn’t lost a home game yet this season. Houston has won five of their last six against a RH starter not to mention going 8-1 in their last 9 against the AL East.

Jose Urquidy (1-1, 3.66) gets the ball for Houston in the series opener, coming off his worst outing of the year so far where he allowed 4 ER over 4.1 IP in a loss to the Blue Jays last Tuesday. Urquidy has allowed just 1 ER over his two road starts this season, but Tampa Bay boasts the #1 offense in the majors in runs scored (6.77), batting average (.282), OPS (.891), and HRs (48).
The Rays go with Taj Bradley (2-0, 2.61) to kick things off against the Astros. The right-hander has 17 K’s in 10.1 IP this year over his two starts, and is coming off 5.1 IP of shutout ball in a 10-0 win over the Reds last time out.
