Offshore oddsmakers have Wednesday’s Reds vs Blue Jays matchup pretty evenly priced. That’s kind of surprising considering Toronto (59-67) is at home and looked good in Tuesday’s 10-3 win. Cincinnati (61-65) did win the series opener 6-3, but they’ve also now dropped four of their last five and scored just three total runs over the weekend in a sweep at the hands of the Royals at Great American Ballpark.
Before Betting on August 21 Reds vs Blue Jays
The Blue Jays belted out five HRs on Tuesday as part of their 13 hits, with George Springer hitting two of those from the leadoff spot. Jose Berrios had another solid start for the Jays throwing 7.0 IP for the third straight game and the Reds offense was silenced once again as they were all weekend being outscored 28-3 by the Royals. Cincinnati did score 6 runs in Monday’s win, no doubt a disappointing performance from Toronto starter Kevin Gausman.
Toronto goes for the series win in the rubber match behind Yariel Rodriguez (1-5, 3.93 ERA) who is looking for some consistency this month. Rodriguez allowed just 1 ER over 10.1 IP in his first two starts in August, but was rocked for 4 over 5.0 IP on Friday at Wrigley Field in a loss to the Cubs. The Blue Jays have now lost four straight Rodriguez starts.
Cincinnati sends Nick Martinez out for another appearance as he has split time between being a starter and coming out of the bullpen this year. Martinez had two solid appearances as a starter, going 5.0 IP against the Marlins and 7.0 IP against the Brewers while not allowing a run, but he did allow 8 hits and 3 ER on Friday in a loss to the Royals.

August 21 Reds vs Blue Jays Prediction & Pick
Offshore oddsmakers have this game essentially a toss-up game, and it does look like it could go either way. Even though the Reds picked up the win on Monday, their offense was stagnant over the weekend and in a coin flip contest the home team has the advantage.Â
Pick: Blue Jays ML
