A possible postseason preview series wraps up on Sunday at Oriole Park at Camden Yards, with Baltimore trying to take three of four from the first place Astros (69-60). Houston has a 4.5 game lead over the Mariners in the AL West, but the Orioles (76-55) continue their summer long battle with the Yankees, currently sitting 1/2 a game back from New York in the AL East.

Before Betting on August 25 Astros vs Orioles

Houston got off on the right foot on Thursday, winning the series opener 6-0 while tagging Baltimore ace Corbin Burnes for 6 runs in 5.2 IP. The Orioles have bounced back nicely though, winning Friday’s contest 7-5 behind an Anthony Santander 8th inning grand slam and then taking Saturday’s meeting 3-2 getting all their runs on Jackson Holliday’s bases clearing double in the 6th. Houston has had the lead in every game this weekend, and they’ll try to hold on to that if they get one on Sunday.

Houston’s bullpen has been disappointing this weekend, so Yusei Kikuchi (6-9, 4.37) will try to keep the Baltimore offense at bay before handing the ball over to the relievers. A change of scenery has been good for Kikuchi, as he is sporting a 2.42 ERA in four games since being acquired from the Blue Jays. Kikuchi has allowed 2 ER or less in all four of his starts for the Astros, and has given up just 2ER total over his last 11.1 IP.

Baltimore sends Dean Kremer (6-9, 4.30 ERA) to the mound for ESPN’s Sunday Night Baseball. Kremer has had a nice bounce back, giving up just 2ER over his last two starts (12.0 IP) after getting hit for 9ER in his first two outings in August (9.1 IP).

August 25 Astros vs Orioles Prediction & Pick

It’s hard not to like the Astros in this spot trying to make the 4-game series a 2-2 split. Kikuchi has been great since coming over from the Blue Jays while Kremer still can’t quite be trusted after two horrible outings to start the month for Baltimore.

Pick: Houston ML
