The action in Group B at the T20 World Cup draws to a conclusion over the weekend, as Australia bid to secure top spot with a fourth straight win when they take on Scotland. But, can the Aussies continue their dominant streak at the competition?

Before Betting On Australia vs Scotland

It has been business as usual for Australia at the T20 World Cup this summer, as the Aussies have already booked their spot in the next round of the competition after winning all three of their matches. They look set to achieve qualification through to the Super 8 round with the best NRR in the group, and they have rarely looked in danger of losing their unbeaten record in matches against Namibia, England, and Oman.

Australia continued their dominant streak after cruising to a nine-wicket win over Namibia on matchday three, scoring the 74 runs required with just under 15 overs remaining. Adam Zampa was the star man in attack, taking four wickets from his four overs. Interestingly, a Scotland win would eliminate England from contention, and that was something Aussie captain Josh Hazlewood admitted would be in the ‘best interest’ of his team.

Scotland were outsiders to progress from this group when the draw was made for the competition, but rain in their match against England, which led to a cancellation, means that a success in this showdown with the Aussies would likely book their spot in the next round of the competition.

The nation have won two of their three matches at the T20 World Cup this year, with their most recent success coming against Oman last weekend. Scotland was excellent with the bat in that match, with Brandon McMullen hitting 61 runs, as the Scots beat their rivals by seven wickets with 41 balls remaining.

Hazlewood’s recent comments only stir the pot ahead of this final day showdown, but Scotland remain huge outsiders to beat Australia. Despite recent comments, we still fully expect the Aussies to round off Group B with a fourth straight win.
