The Bahrain International Circuit hosts the opening race of the 2024 Formula 1 season. It promises to be another exciting year on track, with F1 bracing itself for its longest ever season. Max Verstappen remains the driver to beat after winning the world title in the last three seasons.

Before Betting On Bahrain Grand Prix

The first race of a new season always bring with it fresh excitement, as the chasing pack from last term can dream that this will be their year. However, they will have an almighty gap to close on Red Bull and Max Verstappen. The constructor won all but one of the races in 2023, with Verstappen dominating the field to land a third straight world title success.

Once again, the Dutchman is the man to beat this term. However, it will be fascinating to see how the team start the season, with a fresh concept adopted after producing one of the most dominant cars that the sport has ever seen last term. But, there is every suggestion that this new-look Red Bull will still be the quickest on a single lap.

However, there is hope within both the Mercedes and Ferrari camps that they could be closer to the Red Bulls this term. It will be a pivotal fight between the two teams this season, with Lewis Hamilton’s move to the Italian giants in 2025 likely to be a narrative to follow throughout the campaign.

It is also hard to write off McLaren, who could easily argue that they were the second fastest team in the second half of last season behind Red Bull. However, there will be pressure on Lando Norris this season, as the Brit signed a new multi-year deal with the team, and he will be expected to fight for race wins this season.

Verstappen is incredibly short in the betting to start the new season with a win. However, it could be worth taking on the reigning world champion at the prices. Therefore, a chance is taken on Hamilton start the season with a win, as Mercedes have been upbeat surrounding their chances following pre-season testing.
