There are few more prestigious individual accolades in the world of soccer than the Ballon d’Or. The honor is handed out at the end of every season to the player that is deemed to have been the outstanding star from the previous campaign. But, which stars are among the front runners to win the honor in Paris this year?

Before Betting On Ballon d’Or 2024

There will be a fresh feel to the Ballon d’Or this year, as eight-time winner of the award Lionel Messi is unlikely to feature in the ceremony after moving to Inter Miami in the MLS. Therefore, an exciting wave of younger talent will feature prominently in the leading contenders to pick up the huge accolade in Paris.

Jude Bellingham appears to be a standout contender at this stage after enjoying a memorable first campaign in Spain with Real Madrid. The 20-year-old has scored a stunning 21 goals for Los Blancos from midfield this term, and has added eight assists for good measure. The Englishman’s chances of winning the award will be heightened if Real can add Champions League glory to their likely league title, while an England success at the EUROs could make Bellingham hard to beat.

Kylian Mbappe is likely to be teammates with Bellingham next season, with reports claiming that the Frenchman’s move to the Bernabeu is set to go through before the EUROs. The 25-year-old has enjoyed another strong season with PSG, netting 24 goals and registering six assists in 26 matches. However, any chance that he has of winning the Ballon d’Or will likely hinge on Champions League success for the Parisians.

Harry Kane is also a prominent player in the race for the award, with Bayern Munich still in contention to win the Champions League. The England captain’s chances could also be boosted by EURO success this summer. Kane has enjoyed a prolific first season in Germany this season, netting a staggering 40 goals in 40 matches.
