- Raphinha bags hattrick
- Manuel Neuer horror show
- Robert Lewandowski nets against former team
La Liga giants, Barcelona demolished Bayern Munich 4-1, with Raphinha netting a hattrick that leaves Bayern Munich with just three points from their first three Champions League games.
Barcelona took the lead right on the minute mark, as Fermin Lopez found Raphinha in space for the Brazilian to round Manuel Neuer and find the back of the net.
It took less than 20 minutes for Bayern Munich to respond, Serge Gnabry beat his man out wide to cross for Harry Kane to volley home. The goals kept coming in the first half with the Catalan giant’s restoring their lead, Lopez’s parried shot landed right at the path of former Bayern superstar, Robert Lewandowski.
Raphinha would round of the first half with a brilliant solo goal, taking on Raphael Guerreiro, cutting in and curling past the helpless Manuel Neuer.
The Brazilian winger wasn’t done there, it took Raphinha just 10 minutes of the second half to complete his hattrick, slotting under the goalkeeper to finish off a quick counter attack from Barcelona.
Barcelona Player Ratings
Raphinha Stars for Barcelona
Raphinha rightly was the best player on the pitch, but the likes Fermin Lopez aren’t far behind as he set up two goals.
There was also good performances from Lamine Yamal and Marc Casado, who both got assists.
Inaki Pena – 6.5
Couldn’t do much about Kane’s goal, but other than that, didn’t have much to do.
Jules Kounde – 7.5
Picked up Olise early on and never let him go. Had some problems with Gnabry early, but locked him up too in the latter stages of the game.
Pau Cubarsi – 6.5
Dropped off a bit to often, but did what was required when needed.
Inigo Martinez – 7.0
Controlled the backline well, and was calm and composed on the ball.
Alex Balde – 6.5
Had some issues with Gnabry and Kane, but recovered as the game went on.
Pedri – 7.5
Not quite the level of his counterpart, but oozed class on the ball. Outplayed Kimmich.
Marc Casado – 8.0
Took the game in his stride, a really composed partner to Pedri in that deep midfield role.
Lamine Yamal – 8.0
Bagged an assist and looked lively all game. A real talent.

Fermin Lopez – 8.5
Would have been the best player on the pitch had it not been for Raphinha. Set up two goals and was a livewire throughout.
Raphinha – 9.5
A hattrick and a good one at that. Played his role perfectly and finished with confidence. Hugely important to Barcelona.
Robert Lewandowski – 7.0
Got the goal he craved, but otherwise a quiet night for the Polish forward.
Subs
- Frenkie De Jong – 6.0
- Dani Olmo – 6.5
- Gavi – 5.0

- Pau Victor – 5.0
Bayern Munich Player Ratings
Horror Show for Manuel Neuer
Manuel Neuer had a night to forget as he let in four goals.
Elsewhere, Michael Olise and Joshua Kimmich looked off the pace, whilst Raphael Guerreiro was run about by Raphinha.
Serge Gnabry the only shining light for Bayer.
Manuel Neuer – 4.0
A shocking performance from the normally reliable German shot-stopper. Could have done better with several of the Barcelona goals and looked nervy with the ball.

Raphael Guerreiro – 4.5
Raphinha pocketed him and ran rings around him.
Dayot Upamecano – 6.0
Composed on the ball, but struggled to out muscle the likes of Lewandowski.
Kim Min-Jae – 6.5
The better of Bayern’s centre back pairing, none the less, not a great performance.
Alphonso Davies – 5.5
Looked average at times. Was prevented from getting forward, as he would have liked.
Joao Palhinha – 5.0
Not a good day Palhinha, outclassed by his opposition.
Joshua Kimmich – 4.5
Awful day at the office for Bayern’s midfield, with Kimmich being the worst of the two.
Michael Olise – 5.5
Doubled teamed by Barcelona’s midfield and struggled with it.
Thomas Muller – 6.0
Was a bit more influential than Olise, but looked tired from the first whistle.
Serge Gnabry – 7.0
Bayern’s best attacking outlet, got his assist and caused Kounde and Balde problems when on the ball.
Harry Kane – 8.0
Got his goal and did his best to cause problems, as best he could.
