The NBA Finals MVP is one of the most prestigious individual awards one player can get. We won’t waste your time here talking about all the previous winners (we’re kidding; we need to mention Jordan, Jokic, LeBron, Curry, Hakeen, Russell, etc)
Before Betting on the 2024 NBA Finals MVP
The top two names are, as expected, Jayson Tatum and Luka Doncic. So far, we’ve seen them dominate during the entire playoffs, and we need to say that the bookies consider them to be massive favorites ahead of all the other guys.
Tatum’s odds are slightly shorter because the Celtics are favorites in the NBA Finals series. And we know that the MVPs are almost always from the winning side. JT scores 26 points with 10.4 boards and 5.9 assists per game. He is the top scorer in his unit, though, slightly ahead of Jaylen Brown.
Luka’s numbers are insane, and when looking at the totals, he has the most points, boards, assists, steals, etc. When we translate that into averages, it’s like this: 28.8 points, 9.6 boards, 8.8 assists, and 1.6 steals. He runs the show in Dallas, and that’s a fact. Yes, Kyrie is there to step in when needed, but Luka is the man.
And now comes our favorite guy here. Jaylen Brown. He is 7.00 to be the MVP, and this pick has an enormous value. Brown has one points fewer than Tatum, and also a lower number of boards, 6.1 and assists 2.6, But he is far better on the defensive side of the court, and that’s going to be a big deal in the series. If he even slows down Luka, that’s going to be a game-changer in the series and Brown immediately becomes the first pick for the NBA Finals MVP award.
All other players, like Kyrie, Porzingis, White, etc., are far behind the guys listed above.
