The Triple Crown season in the United States draws to a close on June 10, as the Belmont Stakes concludes the series of races for horses aged three. It will be a new test for the runners involved, as a total distance of 1 ½ miles will be covered by the field.
There will be massive expectation on the horse at the top of the betting, as Forte makes his return to the track. The Todd Pletcher runner had been the long-time favorite for the Kentucky Derby, but he was scratched late in the day, denying him a chance of landing victory at Churchill Downs. Tapit Trice has been an excellent contender on the Triple Crown series to this point. However, he was slightly disappointing in the Kentucky Derby, as he finished back in seventh.
National Treasure will take money in the betting after winning the Preakness Stakes, but others would be preferred from our standpoint. Angel of Empire could easily present the value in the betting after winning the G2 Risen Star and G1 Arkansas Derby, before finishing a solid third in the Kentucky Derby.

The Belmont Stakes looks set to be one of the most competitive race of the Triple Crown series this year, and there are many contenders with a chance. Forte will be the top contender, but a chance will be taken on the progressive Angel of Empire, who continues to improve with every start.
