The Baltimore Ravens and Miami Dolphins are the Week 8 Thursday Night Football game. While this certainly is not a sexy matchup, it’s a game both teams feel they need to win for their playoff chances to improve. The Miami Dolphins come into the game as winners of three straight games. The Dolphins have moved to 4-2 on the season, and tied with Buffalo for second place in the division.
The Baltimore Ravens on the other side have dropped back to back games. The Ravens are now second place in the AFC North, behind only Pittsburgh. Baltimore has gone 1-2 when playing at home this season. The Ravens come into this game as the favorite. Baltimore is -3 over the Miami Dolphins in the Thursday Night Football Game for Week 8 of the season.
Flacco Looking To Get Back On Track
Joe Flacco is not having a very good season for Baltimore. The quarterback, who is 32 years old has completed 143 of 224 passes, with just 5 touchdowns and 8 interceptions on the season. Flacco is struggling to find weapons in his offense. Mike Wallace leads the team with 248 receiving yards, with 16 receptions and a touchdown. Benjamin Watson has been targeted 35 times this season, and has a single touchdown as well.
The Ravens defense has been pretty up and down this season. In the Ravens three wins, they are allowing just 9 points per game. In the four losses, Baltimore is allowing opponents to score 30 points per game. The Ravens wins came over Cincinnati, Cleveland and the Oakland Raiders.
Gase Seeking To Keep Dolphins Hot
The Miami Dolphins have had an interesting 2017 season. Head coach Adam Gase is in his second season, and dealt with losing his quarterback in preseason. Then, their season opener was canceled, which forces them to play 16 straight games. The Dolphins had the assistant coach drama as well this season. Despite that – the Dolphins have downed the Titans, Falcons and Jets the past three weeks. In those three wins, the defense has allowed 18 points per game, while the offense has scored 21.5 per game
Jay Ajayi was expected to have a monster season for the Dolphins. While the running back still leads the team, his 442 yards is lower for his expectations, and he has yet to rush into the end zone. Jarvis Landry leads the receiving core with 3 touchdowns. Matt Moore will get the start the next couple weeks, as Jay Cutler is out with an injury. Miami will host the Oakland Raiders next week in the Sunday Night Football game.
Ravens Win At Home
This is going to be an interesting game. Most of our favorite offshore sportsbooks have the home team – Baltimore Ravens as the three point favorites and the total for this game is listed at just 37. That’s pretty low. We look for the total to go over, as Flacco gets the offense going a little bit, and the Baltimore defense scores in this game. Bet on the Baltimore Ravens and the OVER on Thursday Night Football.
