The Blue Jays (26-23) and Rays (35-15) continue their four game series when the teams meet Wednesday night in St. Petersburg. Toronto is hoping they have some offense left in the tank after Tuesday’s impressive 20-1 victory that snapped a 5-game losing streak in a huge way. Tampa Bay has looked human lately going 3-4 over their last 7, but are huge favorites in the offshore odds for this matchup.
Before Betting on Blue Jays vs Rays
Tuesday night’s showing was impressive for Toronto, who collected 27 hits to hand Tampa Bay their biggest loss in franchise history. George Springer had a big night going 4-5 with a home run and a triple while Vlad Guerrero, Jr. , Matt Chapman, and Danny Jansen also added long balls for the Blue Jays. The Rays managed just 6 hits on Tuesday, but did pick up a 6-4 win in the series opener on Monday.
The Blue Jays probably shouldn’t expect the same type of offensive success on Wednesday night up against one of the favorites for the AL Cy Young in Tampa Bay’s Shane McClanahan (7-0, 2.05 ERA). The left-hander has allowed one ER or less in three of his last four starts and gave up just one ER over 6.0 IP in a 6-1 win over Toronto on April 16th.
For whatever reason, Blue Jays starter Yusei Kikuchi (5-1, 4.08 ERA) has had tremendous success against Tampa Bay in his career, going 4-0 with a 1.80 ERA in six career appearances. Kikuchi has allowed 7ER total in his last two starts and hasn’t been able to get out of the 5th inning, so he needs a return to form here.

Blue Jays vs Rays Prediction & Pick
Teams usually fall back to the mean after a showing like Toronto put on Tuesday, and that’s especially true when you go up against McClanahan. It would seem that Tampa Bay is ripe to return the favor on Wednesday against the struggling Kikuchi.
