Everybody in the AL East is looking up at the 23-6 Rays, and the Blue Jays (18-11) and Red Sox (16-14) will both try to improve their position in the division when the two clubs meet up on Tuesday at Fenway Park. Boston took the series opener 6-5 on Monday night as significant underdogs, and even though the offshore odds have dropped a bit for game two the Red Sox still seem to have nice value at home.

Before Betting on Blue Jays vs Red Sox

Alex Verdugo hit a walk-off HR to send Boston to the win on Monday night, their first meeting of the season with Toronto after going just 3-16 against the Blue Jays in 2022. The Red Sox have some momentum now with three straight wins, plating 15 runs total in wins over the Guardians on Saturday and Sunday.

Toronto pitcher Jose Berrios gave up 11 hits over 5.1 IP in Monday’s loss, so Tuesday’s starter Yusei Kikuchi (4-0, 3.00) will obviously try to be better in game two. The Blue Jays have won all five of Kikuchi’s starts this season, and he’s allowed 1 ER or less in four of those outings.

Tanner Houck (3-1, 4.50 ERA) gets the ball for Boston on Tuesday and the Red Sox are 4-1 in his five starts this season. Houck has allowed 3+ ER in three of his five outings in 2023, which may be too many if Kikuchi continues to be dialed in for Toronto.

Blue Jays vs Red Sox Prediction & Pick

The Blue Jays lost the series opener at Fenway Park, but they dominated the Red Sox last season and should be able to get back on track Tuesday night behind Kikuchi.
