Everybody in the AL East is currently looking up at the red hot Rays, but both the Blue Jays (11-8) and the Yankees (12-7) look poised to be in the division hunt for the long haul. The Yankees got a quality outing from Nestor Cortes, Jr. while beating the Angels 9-3 on Thursday. Domingo German (1-1, 3.86 ERA) will try to follow that up while building on two straight outings allowing just 1 ER which includes 6.1 IP with 11 K’s against the Twins last Saturday.
Yusei Kikuchi (2-0, 4.70 ERA goes for Toronto in the series opener, giving the Blue Jays value as they’ve won all three of his starts this season. Kikuchi has held Yankees slugger Aaron Judge to 3-15 (.200) in his career, but two of those hits have also been home runs.
