One of the most prestigious events on the PGA Tour will be staged across the coming weekend, as the penultimate event on the FedEx Cup playoff schedule will be held at Castle Pines Golf Club. The BMW Championship will see a talented field involved, but which player will come out on top?

Before Betting On BMW Championship

The BMW Championship is one of the most famous events on the PGA Tour, as it is the longest runner annual event on the schedule aside from the four majors. It was previously known as the Western Open, as it was first held in 1899. However, it has become an important date for the diary since 2007, with the BMW Championship forming an integral part of the FedEx Cup playoffs.

The top 50 players in the rankings will secure their position in the field, with the par 70 course covering a total distance of 7,366 yards at Castle Pines Golf Club. This stroke play event has been won by some of the most legendary players throughout history, with the aggregate records currently held by Justin Rose and Keegan Bradley. However, Patrick Cantlay and Bryson DeChambeau hold the par records.

Hideki Matsuyama was a winning selection for us at the St. Jude Championship last weekend, with the Japanese star finishing two shots clear of Viktor Hovland. The player has hit form at the best time this season, and another bold bid could be likely after finishing the Olympics with the bronze medal.

Hovland’s return to form is also a welcome sight after finishing in a tie for second alongside Xander Schauffele last weekend. Scottie Scheffler is also once again a leading chance this weekend after finishing in the top five once again after claiming fourth spot at the St. Jude Championship. An interesting betting trend to note is the fact that each of the last three winners have been priced up at +2000 or higher.

BMW Championship Odds & Picks

PlayerOdds
Scottie Scheffler+350
Xander Schauffele+650
Rory McIlroy+1600
Collin Morikawa+1600
Viktor Hovland+1600
Hideki Matsuyama+2000
Ludvig Aberg+2500

Billy Horschel looks an interesting contender at the prices, with just a few players boasting better form. Horschel finished second at The Open last month, and was in strong form last weekend when finishing tenth at the St. Jude Championship.
