The BMW International Open is one of the most prestigious golf events to be staged annually in Germany, with some of the world’s best players likely to be in contention for their share of the $2 million purse this weekend. The stroke play event covers a total distance of 7,284 yards, and it is staged at Golfclub Munich Eichenried.
It has been staged since 1989, and it is an important prep event before the start of the Open Championship in the United Kingdom. It has been held at its current home since 2012, and it is one of just two events on the European Tour schedule that is held in Germany on an annual basis.
