A victory for the home team looks to be the standout selection when making a Borussia Dortmund vs. Celtic prediction this week.

The high-quality action in the Champions League continues on Tuesday, as last year’s runners-up welcome Scottish champions Celtic to Signal Iduna Park.

Both sides tasted victory on the opening night, but which side will maintain their 100% record?

Dortmund’s Attack Flourishing

It hasn’t been the best of starts in the Bundesliga for Borussia Dortmund this term, but they quickly adjusted to life back in the Champions League on matchday one.

The German side opened their campaign with a dominant 3-0 win in Belgium against Club Brugge. Exciting English talent Jamie Bynoe-Gittens netted twice in that success.

The two goals for the winger saw him become the second youngest player in Champions League history to net a brace.

Dortmund’s attacking talent has caught the eye in the competition across recent seasons, finding the net in eleven of their last 14 matches.

Celtic End Unwanted Record on Matchday One

Champions League wins have been a rarity for Celtic in recent seasons. However, the Scottish champions would have been delighted with their performance on matchday one against Slovan Bratislava.

The SPL side netted five goals for the first time since September 1977 at Celtic Park, with five different scorers finding the back of the net.

It also marked the first time in 13 attempts that they had won on the opening night in the competition. However, the Hoops haven’t won a Champions League match away from home since landing a 3-0 win over Anderlecht in 2017-18.

Borussia Dortmund vs. Celtic Prediction: Easy Win for Black and Yellows

Huge positives can be taken from both of these sides’ starts to the competition. However, it is hard to overlook a victory for the hosts on Tuesday.

Celtic have lost 16 of their 25 matches against German opposition, winning just 16% of their encounters.

Meanwhile, Dortmund boasts a winning record against the Hoops, winning 75% of the previous matchups.
