The inaugural UFL season has reached the home stretch. This Week 7 matchup features a clash between the San Antonio Brahmas (4-2) and the Houston Roughnecks (1-5). The Brahmas are aiming to bounce back from a tough defeat against D.C. in Week 6. Meanwhile, Houston is fighting to avoid playoff elimination this week.

Before Betting on Brahmas vs Roughnecks

San Antonio had a chance to take a 3-game lead in the playoff standings with the tiebreaker had they beaten the Defenders on Sunday. Instead, they hold a 1-game lead without the tiebreaker. While that difference is monumental, the Brahmas still control their own destiny down the stretch. They’ll aim to get back on track against a struggling Roughnecks team this week.

In the loss against the Defenders, QB Quinten Dormandy really struggled. He completed 16 of 26 passes for only 79 yards, adding one touchdown and one interception. Dormandy had all the support in the world from RB John Lovett, who rushed 23 times for 153 yards. His struggles are a major area of concern for the Brahmas moving forward.

Houston dropped to 1-5 following their loss to the Battlehawks. Finding themselves on the brink of playoff elimination, the Roughnecks will need to rally and win out to have an outside shot of making it. That starts this week against the Brahmas, who are just as desperate for a bounce-back win themselves.

While the defense gave everything they had in St. Louis, Houston’s offense left much to be desired. QB Reid Sinnett completed 19 of 34 passes for 134 yards, averaging 3.9 yards per attempt. The running game wasn’t much better, averging 4.2 yards per carry. The Roughnecks won the turnover differential margin against the Battlehawks, but couldn’t capitilize because of their sluggish offense.

This game features two teams desperate for a win. Both have struggling QBs needing to bounce back to save their team’s playoff hopes. The Brahmas are in far better shape in terms of record, but still face an uphill battle on the road here. This is likely to be a defensive, low-scoring game with the winner determined in the final minutes. San Antonio should have a slight overall advantage.
