Philadelphia was able to gain home field advantage with their game one victory in Atlanta, and now we’ll see just how big of an asset that will be in the Braves vs Phillies game 3 matchup in the NLDS. The Braves bounced back with a 5-4 win on Monday to tie up the series 1-1, but Citizens Bank Park is going to be a madhouse on Wednesday night.

Before Betting on Braves vs Phillies Game 3

It’s always good to get home field advantage, but Philadelphia might be returning home a little down after blowing a 4-0 lead on Monday and allowing the Braves to get the comeback win. Either way, the Phillies endured Atlanta’s top two pitchers to start the series (Spencer Strider, Max Fried) and the Braves have still yet to announce a starter for game three which is why the line is off at BetUS.

We do know who will start for the Phillies on Wednesday as Aaron Nola gets the ball after a 12-9, 4.46 mark during the regular season. Nola went 7.0 IP while allowing just 3 hits last Wednesday to help Philadelphia complete the quick two-game sweep of the Marlins.

The Phillies have now won 9 of the last 10 Nola starts, including September 30th against these Braves when he tossed 6.0 IP of 2 ER baseball. Austin Riley and Ronald Acuna, Jr. have both hit over .320 in their careers against Nola with a combined 9 ER, so it will be interesting to see how those matchups play out in game 3.

Braves vs Phillies Game 3 Prediction & Pick

The Braves are the World Series favorite so they are not a bad play any given game during this postseason, especially with Wednesday’s near even money odds. The Philadelphia crowd is going to be absolutely electric though and when you combine that with Atlanta’s pitching question mark the home team seems like the play.
