Many people’s favorite to be the 2023 World Series Champion are on the brink of elimination heading into the Braves vs Phillies game 4 matchup. Atlanta won the NL East by 14 games this season, but it’s the second place team Philadelphia that holds a 2-1 lead in the best-of-five series.

Thursday’s pitching matchup is a rematch of game 1, as Atlanta sends Spencer Strider up against the Phillies’ Ranger Suarez. Strider pitched well enough to win the opener with 7.0 IP and just 1 ER allowed, but the Braves offense couldn’t muster a single run.
Suarez lasts just 3.2 IP in game one, but he also allowed just 1-hit. Save for the meltdown in game two the Philadelphia bullpen has been great in this series – and of course if the offense can belt out 6 HRs again it takes a lot of pressure off the pitching staff.
