Before Betting On Brentford vs Newcastle

It has been another reliable season in the Premier League for Newcastle under Eddie Howe. The Magpies have been hit by injuries throughout the campaign, but they have made a solid enough finish to the season to suggest that they will be back competing for a top six place in the league next term. However, a response will be expected this weekend after they were beaten in midweek by Man United.

Newcastle looked below their usual high standards in that clash, and they were also weaker in the defensive areas than they have been in recent weeks. They conceded three times at Old Trafford, and were guilty of missing a number of clear scoring chances. But, a victory this weekend could see them end the campaign in sixth.

Brentford will also be happy to see the back of the 2023-24 season after struggling toward the foot of the standings throughout the campaign. The Bees have won just ten of their 37 matches this term, but they could yet end the season in 15th place.

However, the Bees have struggled in league matches against Newcastle throughout recent history, going six without a win across the top two divisions since 2016. They have also lost each of their last four Premier League meetings against the Magpies, which includes a 1-0 defeat in the reverse clash this term.

Newcastle haven’t been the most reliable travelers in the Premier League this term, but their dominant record in recent seasons against Brentford is hard to ignore. For that reason, we will be siding with the Magpies on the final day.
