The Bees will be our selection when making a Brentford vs. West Ham prediction this weekend.

A London derby will be staged in the Premier League on Saturday, as West Ham continue to only play in the capital this term when they travel to Brentford. But, can the Hammers claim a much-needed win to ease the pressure on Julen Lopetegui?

The pressure continues to increase on Julen Lopetegui, as West Ham bid to bounce back on matchday six in the Premier League.

The Hammers have won just once in five Premier League outings this term, and they have fallen to defeats in two of their last three outings.

Interestingly, West Ham are yet to play outside of London this term in the league. Their poor form continued in the previous round after suffering a 3-0 home loss against Chelsea.

The defeat made unwanted history, as the Hammers have now lost three successive home matches at the start of a new season for the first time.

Their performance also rang alarm bells surrounding the lack of progression made by Lopetegui this term.

Thomas Frank will be happy enough with his side’s start to the new season after Brentford have won two of their opening five to sit 12th in the standings.

They come into this derby after losing successive matches, but it is worth remembering that those defeats were suffered against Man City and Tottenham.

Brentford opened the scoring in both of those matches inside the opening minute. In doing so, they became the first team since Man City in 2019 to record goals in the first 60 seconds in two consecutive matches.

Brentford vs. West Ham Prediction

I’ve already been stung by West Ham on a number of occasions this term, meaning I will be siding with the Bees this weekend. Brentford have won their last three home matches against the Hammers in the Premier League, netting at least twice in all fixtures during that sequence.

Overall, Brentford’s league record against the Hammers is also very strong after winning five of the last six.
