The Denver Broncos (6-5) go on the road to play the Las Vegas Raiders (2-8) in NFL Week 12. Our Broncos vs Raiders prediction is for favored Denver to cover the 6-point spread.

Denver is on the rise after its Week 11 obliteration of Atlanta. Las Vegas has lost six straight and might not win another game this season.

Head-to-head, these original AFL franchises have met 130 times with the Raiders leading 73-55-2.

Sean Payton’s Broncos Rebuild is Bearing Fruit

Denver head coach Sean Payton has spent the first two years of his tenure changing the culture and importing players who can win and win within his system.

The key to any team is the quarterback. Rookie Bo Nix has been efficient, aware of the importance of ball security, and judicious. He threw a near-perfect game in the 38-6 dismantling of Atlanta completing 28 of 33 passes for 307 yards and four touchdowns.

Denver’s strength has been its defense. They are third in the league in fewest points allowed per game, seventh in defensive passing yards allowed per game, and sixth in defensive rushing yards allowed per game. They lead the NFL in sacks with 39 and their secondary is improving, anchored by emerging superstar cornerback Patrick Surtain II.

The Raiders Are Getting Progressively Worse

Las Vegas’ season has become one in which they’re looking for moral victories and questions abound about the franchise strategy. In Week 7, they lost to the Los Angeles Rams by five. Kansas City beat them by seven in Week 8. If it’s any consolation, that was better than the back-to-back blowouts they suffered in their last two games — both losses — to Cincinnati and Miami.

Their running game is non-existent. They have an unworkable quarterback situation with Gardner Minshew II, Aiden O’Connell, and Desmond Ridder. After significant changes to the coaching staff, they managed to get worse.

Defensively, they have been middle of the pack against the run and pass, but it hasn’t helped them on the scoreboard. It’s difficult to see that changing against a Denver team hoping to secure its playoff position.

Broncos vs Raiders Prediction: Denver Will Maintain Its Momentum

The point spread seems strangely light when looking at how well Denver has played and Las Vegas’ overall struggles. Even if the Broncos are not running on all cylinders as they did against Atlanta, they should not have any trouble with the Raiders.

Denver will continue its playoff push and cover the 6-point spread in Las Vegas.
