The NFC South has been much more competitive than expected this season. The 3-1 Bucs lead the way, but the 2-2 Falcons have a chance to rise in this game. Check out our full Buccaneers vs Falcons prediction below.

Buccaneers as Consistent as Ever

Tampa Bay has won the NFC South in three straight years. Most recently, the Buccaneers found an astonishing level of success despite the departures of QB Tom Brady and the entirety of their Super Bowl-winning defense in 2020-21. A sign of a very competent franchise, the Buccaneers brought in struggling QB Baker Mayfield and provided him the tools to succeed. At 3-1, Tampa Bay and Mayfield may be on their way to another division title.

Falcons Fiercely Fought Off Saints

The Falcons claimed a must-win game against the Saints on Sunday. Younghoe Koo hit a career-best 58-yard FG as time expired to win the game. Atlanta took advantage of their home-field crowd, putting defensive pressure on New Orleans late. Despite the win, the Falcons still have some major concerns. Ineffective games from QB Kirk Cousins and RB Bijan Robinson are worrisome. They were also penalized nine times for 76 yards.

Buccaneers to Boldly Upset Falcons

This Buccaneers vs Falcons game is sure to be competitive. It should come down to the wire in a matchup between two similar teams. Tampa Bay’s defense gives them an edge, but road teams often have trouble in short-week Thursday night matchups. This one should swing back and forth before Tampa Bay wins the coaching battle and sneaks away with a narrow upset victory. We’ll take them to win this game, 26-24.
