The ninth race on the Formula 1 schedule for 2024 will take place in Montreal on Sunday, June 9. An interesting battle is developing at the top of the standings, but will Max Verstappen bounce back to winning ways at the Canadian Grand Prix?

Before Betting On Canadian Grand Prix

The Canadian Grand Prix forms the ninth race of the season in Formula 1, and it comes at n interesting period, with questions being asked of Red Bull by the chasing pack. Max Verstappen could only finish sixth at the Monaco Grand Prix last time out, which has enabled the chasing pack to close the gap on the reigning world champion.

This race is held at the Circuit Giles Villeneuve, and it has been staged annually since 1961. A total of 70 laps are completed to make up the 305.270 km race distance. Lewis Hamilton and Michael Schumacher are tied for the most victories in the race with seven.

Verstappen has won the last two editions of the race, but the Dutchman really struggled for pace in Monaco. Qualifying will once again be key in Canada, with the starting grid being vital given how challenging overtaking can be. Charles Leclerc will be full of confidence ahead of this next round after winning his home race for the first time in Monaco.

It was another successful weekend for McLaren, with Oscar Piastri finishing second, and Lando Norris claiming fourth. Mercedes endured another torrid weekend, with George Russell finishing fifth, and Lewis Hamilton back in seventh. Their lack of qualifying pace means that another tricky weekend could be likely in Canada.
