NHL action will be taking place at the Wells Fargo Center Philadelphia on Wednesday, as the Flyers host the Washington Capitals. Both sides find themselves towards the bottom of the Metropolitan Division standings, and a victory could put them back on course for a charge toward the playoffs.

Before Betting On Capitals vs Flyers

There will be an interesting game in the NHL on Wednesday, as the Washington Capitals and Philadelphia Flyers will both be looking to kick on from recent wins and pick up a second straight win. Both sides are toward the bottom of the Metropolitan Division, but victory this week could kickstart their season.

The Flyers will have home advantage, but only the Ottawa Senators and Columbus Blue Jackets have better overall records in the Eastern Conference at this point. But, the Flyers should feel confident coming into this game, as they recently picked up their ninth win of the season against the Colorado Avalanche. Tanner Laczynski, Travis Sanheim, and Tony DeAngelo scored goals in that 5-3 success.

Meanwhile, the Washington Capitals sit a place above the Flyers in the Metropolitan Division, as they have gone 11-12-4 in the NHL so far this season. That includes a run of four victories over their previous ten games. Like the Flyers, they also come into this fixture after picking up a recent win.

The Capitals battled hard to pick up a victory on the road in their previous game, as they landed a 3-2 success against the Edmonton Oilers. Their winning goal was scored in the final period, with the sides locked level at 2-2 after the second period. Nic Dowd, Lars Eller, and T. J. Oshie scored the efforts in the win for the Caps.

This looks a tricky game to call, as both sides have struggled for momentum throughout the season. However, we give the slight preference to the Capitals, who have won three of their previous four against the Flyers.
