- Tottenham hosts Chelsea in the second leg of the Carabao Cup.
- The first meeting at Stamford ended in the hosts’ favor, 2-0.
- Both the Spurs and the Blues had obligations in the FA Cup this weekend.
Antonio Conte hopes to eliminate his former club from the Carabao Cup and reaches the finals of this competition. The task ahead of the Italian manager is very, very tough, because his team has a two-goal minus.
On the other side, Chelsea finally has most of its players healthy and ready to play. The incident with Romelu Lukaku is forgotten, so the reigning European champions can carry on.

Son Injury a Major Blow
Antonio Conte revealed this Saturday that his leading player is out due to a muscle injury, probably until the end of the month. The South Korean is one of the best players in the league, and the Spurs will definitely miss him in the upcoming period.
Tottenham wasn’t confident against Morecambe in the FA Cup, allowing the guests to score first. Conte’s team won in the end, 3-1, but overall, we weren’t amazed at what they showed. Dele Alli needs to do better for the entire team to post good results. What happened to the guy who used the lead the English national team, we don’t know, but he is currently a mediocre player.
The Spurs’ last six games at home ended with over 2.5 goals. During that stretch, Tottenham won four of them, lost one, and one ended with a draw.
Chelsea and Lukaku Reconcile
We thought that Lukaku’s stint in Chelsea would be over after all those comments the Belgian striker made last week. Though, everything settled down, and the two parties are again in love. Or at least it looks like that.
A 5-1 win over Chesterfield at Stamford in the FA Cup most definitely boosted the morale of the UCL champions. That game marked the first game after a while for Tuchel to have both Lukaku and Werner on the pitch.
Apart from that, this event was the 10th in a row in which Chelsea didn’t lose, which is a very good thing. What isn’t is that the Blues posted five draws during that period, practically losing all the chances for reaching the title.
Head to Head
Chelsea defeated Tottenham both times this year, without allowing a goal. The first game at Tottenham’s stadium ended 0-3, while the last weeks finished 2-0 in Blues’ favor. Havertz scored the opening goal, and Davies placed the ball into his own net.
Prediction
This is a match with the gloves off when talking about Tottenham. Conte will come out firing from all cylinders, and like every wounded animal, the Spurs have nothing to lose, and they can hit pretty nasty. It is up to Tuchel to find a way to restrain them. In our opinion, this is a perfect game for betting on both teams to score. The odds on that are -120.
Pick: Both teams to score -120
